09:36 pm - Belly Shot - 3 October 2008
Here we go. Finally. This is at 20 or 22 weeks. Depending on how we want to count. I'm going to go with 20 since my kids were both 10 days late anyways. We're going to try to do better from here on out. It's just hard to do. It doesn't help I fall asleep early on the couch most nights.

04:06 pm - friday
i love the weather today. i love autumn. i love that the a/c hasn't been on at all today. i love that the window is open. i love that the kids and i spent time out front on the porch this afternoon. i crocheted and they played nicely. i love that we went to winter park and walked around park ave and the big park there with rose.
i think tonight we're going to go to the ymca and exercise and swim with the kids. stromboli for dinner tonight.
my birthday is next week! i had no idea it was so close. ha. neither did nathan. i think we're going to do pizza here with friends. i want a cookie cake. but the great american cookie store closed. there is a nestle store near us, but i don't know how their cookie cakes are. i want cookies all the time lately. and while i could blame it on being pregnant i think i just want cookies. ha.
working on another crocheted blanket. FINALLY finished the granny square one. geez. took forever. stitching them all together was NOT fun.
making a list of the crafts i want to get done as christmas presents. i'm going to start having to use my time wisely if i want to get it all done.
and so i'll start now.

04:01 pm - update time
I realize that I have not updated in forever. I've been on the computer less and less. Which is good. I think.
First: I'm almost 20 weeks along with baby number 3. We have the ultrasound on Thursday afternoon -though we don't find out the sex. Nathan and I are sure we'd be the ones told the wrong sex. And we don't want to risk that. Plus you can't do anything about it so why not wait I say. You only get so many surprises in life. And we have stuff for a boy and a girl since we've already got one of each. I do think this time we're actually going to have to get some stuff. A double stroller for sure. With Harper we thought about it, but never got around to it and I think we did fine without it. We wore Harper for the longest while whenever we went out so Sebastian could sit in the stroller if he needed. Harper hardly ever uses the stroller now, but I can't imagine going out by myself with the three and not having a stroller. So far everything thing seems to be going well. I - thankfully - have easy pregnancies. Sebastian is super excited. He tells everyone that there is a baby in my tummy. I'm not sure if Harper fully understands yet.
Second: School as started back up. Sebastian is in the pre-k class and Harper in the 2's class at our church's co-op. They both love it and are doing great. I'm working in the nursery again. This year it's been super easy so far. The most I've had was 5 (that was an easy day for me last year) and they've almost all been little ones which is fun.
Third: Nathan and his friend Peter started a new website you all should check out. www.liecount.com It's a site that is keeping a tally of the lies told by both political parties between the conventions and the election. They've been working hard on it and got it up real fast. Today they sent out press releases and Nathan actually did a radio interview today which is pretty cool. I think it has the potential to get big. But we'll see. They've also been getting some crap for it. Mostly from either far lefts or far rights saying they're being biased. But I think that's a case of if someone you like is called out you get angry and is someone you don't like gets called out you think it's funny. Personally I think it's great. Both candidates have NO excuse for lies. They have people (or should have) on their teams whose job is to verify everything. Lying should not be an option. So check out the site. And if you hear or read any lies send them along.
Fourth: I've been needle felting lately which is super fun. I go in spurts. I need to get o a routine so I can make lots of cute little things. Sebastian designed a monster and I made it for him. He loves it. I also really want to learn to quilt. But it's not like I have lots of free time. I mean, at night I do, but I tend to fall asleep. ah.
Fifth: We are still writing the bible by hand. We're on Deuteronomy right now. It's been a great experience. It'll be another 2.5 years before we're done, but I think since we've made it this far we shouldn't have a problem completing the process. If we can make it through Leviticus I'm not worried. ha.
I guess that's an adequate update.

10:08 am - sick
i feel awful.
nathan had to come home yesterday at lunch. i just could not care for the kids. i've had a pretty high fever and getting up and down was not working. luckily the kids were great yesterday morning and played out back a lot while i was in the hammock.
nathan is driving them to lakeland to meet my mom who will take them for the night. i really don't want them getting sick, and the house is a wreck, and i'd kind of like nathan to take care of me. i haven't felt this bad in a really long time.
i think i've taken about 5 or 6 baths. but even that's not really helping any more. once nathan gets back i think we will go to a walk in clinic.
unfortunately my mom has a conference monday or she'd take off work. if i'm still sick i may see if my friend will watch the kids in the morning at least. though i'm praying i'll be better by then.
on the plus i've been reading more of the anne of green gables series.
time to rest for a bit.

01:30 am - Nashville and beards
Nathan and I are in Nashville for the weekend for the Whiskerino throwdown. It'd been pretty fun. 100+ bearded guys. I am hoping the weather is better tomorrow. Today was cold and cloudy and a bit rainy.
The kids are at my moms. So I'm getting a nice little break. Something every parent (especially the stay at home parent) needs from time to time.
I do need to find them each a little something to bring back. Perhaps cowboy hats? Or miniature guitars?
Tomorrow breakfast with the beards, then Nathan and I are going to walk around a little shopping district. Theres bowling in the afternoon which I may skip. Then fancy reception that night. I am wearing my new Anthropologie dress (my first!!) that I found on sale for $30!!! It's black with fun cream print on the bottom part. And I'll be sporting some bright teal tights. Yes!
Now I a ready for bed... though our hotel is a bit... blah. It's where most of the group is staying, but unfortunately the guy who made the arrangements is from out of town and the hotel is slightly (well more than slightly) gross. We may switch hotels tomorrow... or we may not.
Oh. Tonight was the art show. A lot of the Whiskerino participants are artists. The guy who organized it had done 33 paintings of guys in Whiskerino. Nathan was hoping he was one of the chosen few and he was! A bigger painting too. So we bought it. It's really good. I love the style of painting. I think we may ask him to do paintings of the kids. here's a link to his work - I wish the beard ones were up because they are awesome.

01:23 am - i should be in bed
today we assembled our furniture purchases from ikea for in the kids room. we got bunk beds for the kiddos (technically it's just a raised bed - not nearly as high as bunk beds are - and we put a mattress on the floor for harper) and a cool storage unit. it took all day and their room is still a wreck, but by the end of tomorrow it'll look awesome.
nathan's parents were here this weekend so we got to have the afternoon to ourselves on saturday which was nice. went to ikea and the mall and dinner. we were going to go to epcot for dinner and walking around, but sebastian was running a fever and we decided to stick closer to home just to be safe.
harper and i went to a birthday party today for a little boy i watch in the nursery. harper LOVES nolan. she calls him no-no and it's adorable. at the party they held hands and walked together for a little bit. so sweet. sadly i did not have my camera.
oh. and the bunk bed is AWESOME. if i was single i would totally have it for my bed. it's got this cool canopy/ten thing on top. amazing. and since it's a twin i can lay up there with sebastian no problem, unlike his toddler bed in which even i - short as i am - had a hard time squeezing onto. in fact i laid down with him tonight and fell asleep for a while.
nathan and i head to nashville this weekend for the whiskerino throwdown. i'll have to post a picture of nathan on here soon. his beard is massive. it'll be funny to be surrounded by very very very bearded men all weekend. i told nathan that it will look like a bunch of well dressed homeless people. ha. 4 months of beard growth with no trimming = intense.
i'm excited about a weekend away from the children. i love them, but i need a break.
and now i should go to bed seeing as one of the two will be up in 5 hours or so.

01:37 pm
making bread today. whole wheat. it's in stage one of rising. we'll see how it turns out. hopefully excellent because i did not buy bread at the grocery today and we need it for the week.
doing laundry today as well. nathan did the diapers for me last night. yay! now just a neverending amount of clothes to wash. it's amazing how much clothes 4 people go through in a week. not to mention sheets and towels.
the kids are playing nicely out back - for the most part. today's weather is perfect. a little chilly this morning and now warming up - but not hot.
been working on lots of crocheted blankets.
about half way through harper's.
just started sebastian's.
and i have about 12 hexagons done for a blanket for ???
harper is calling my name.
time to go.

11:09 pm - in the mountains
This is the weekend of Colorado mountain fun.
Thursday night we flew into Denver then drove to Granby - about 2 hours away. Nathan and our friend Daniel have been doing some work for another friend - Jeremy - who works for a building company in Granby. On Friday they shot a commercial. The kids and I took a walk, napped, drove into town and had lunch, and stopped to play at the baseball fields on the way back to Jeremy's house because there was a train parked and Sebastian wanted to see it.
Today we drove along beautiful roads to Breckenridge. The trees have turned and the weather was amazing. They had been calling for low temps and snow, but that didn't happen. Tonight we are staying in Breckenridge at Daniel's in-law's house. On the drive back from town where we had dinner there were some snow flurries. I'm kind of hoping we get a little snow tonight so the kids can play in it for a bit tomorrow. Harper has never seen snow, and Sebastian only a few times.
Tomorrow we are driving to Boulder where Nathan's brother lives.
It's like a mini tour of Colorado.
The kids have been doing well. The 2 hour time difference hasn't thrown them off too much. But both of them have chapped little faces. Poor things. Us FLorida folk are not used to cold wind. And I am so dry... I've been trying to drink lots of water, but I wake up in the morning and my throat is so stinking dry it hurts to swallow.
We'll spend the day and night in Boulder then we fly home Monday afternoon.
PS We saw a muskrat swimming in the stream in downtown Breckenridge. And the first night we saw some deer, but Sebastian was asleep and missed it. Still hoping he gets to see a deer or some other fun wildlife before we leave.

09:21 pm - music notes
our daily drive to co-op music play list, per sebastian's requesting, is as follows:
track 1: take out the trash by they might be giants
track 2: on a rope - rocket from the crypt
track 3: middle - rocket from the crypt (sebastian calls this song "way-o way-o"_
track 4: born in '69 - rocket from the crypt (sebastian calls it "woo i need it")
then the rest of the drive we listen to the backyardigans. and it's always in this order. we get in the car. start driving and almost immediately he asks for his favorite songs. and he says them in the order. it's really funny. and hearing him sing along is so cute. he knows so many of the words. and when he sings backyardigan songs he gets the sweetest little voice.
harper enjoys the music selection as well. nathan has taught them both to pump their fists to the rftc songs. it's funny.
another music note... i think beirut could be my new favorite band. i haven't really heard all that much of their stuff, but i'm constantly amazed by them.
http://www.blogotheque.net/cae_tous_les
the above site is the reason i'm liking beirut. this site gets bands to perform in public places kind of on the fly. it's awesome. beruit and guillemots ones are my favorites.
i'm looking forward to the time i can play piano again. currently whenever i try i have two little ones wanting to play with me. which is cute and i love their love of music, but i miss playing.
the weeks are going quickly. working at co-op is the main reason. but i'm enjoying it.
and now for veg time.
